Kreatel develops and markets service gateways for the telecom and broadband networks. The company is a spin-off from Linköping University of Technology and was founded in 1996. The company started with an advanced call routing technology, which is built on genuine competence in telecommunications, electronics and software development. Through Kreatel's extensive cooperation with some of Europe's most prestigious service providers, Kreatel have not only further developed their technical abilities but also gathered valuable market knowledge.

The product portfolio today includes a wide range of service gateways spanning from unified messaging to a unique broadband service gateway for entertainment and multimedia. All gateways are designed to work with an advanced management system from which the operators can control the services. The business model is based on direct sales to telecom operators who typically subsidize the gateways before selling or giving them to their end-users.
